Renaissance

Jantzen and Spencer do an unbelievable job of interviewer & Michelangelo.  I LOVED their jingles such as the coin dropping and the dog barking.  Much of their information was gathered from a Book called ‘Lives of the Artists’ by author Kathleen Krull.  It’s a great resource.  Enjoy the pod!

Monet

Posted in Uncategorized by msmcclellan on September 5th, 2008

Jeff and Cori do a good interview about Monet.  Unfortunately there is some ambient classroom noises in the background but other than that distraction this is a very good podcast.  They did a good job of placing the scene of ‘time travelers’.  Please excuse the ambient sounds and enjoy the information they provide you with on this great master of the arts.

Katie and Krystal researched the Baroque period and found quit a bit of info about Rembrandt.  I was very impressed with their final product as I know there were a lot of tough words to pronounce throughout their podcast! They hope you enjoy learning about Rembrandt.

Mary Cassatt

Posted in Uncategorized by msmcclellan on August 10th, 2008

The following podcast was by Ashley and Hannah. They decided to research Mary Cassatt an artist who lived 1844-1926. I was surprised when I listened to their podcast. I must admit that at first I was not thrilled as it seemed to be a script that didn’t really make sense to me.

So…I sat down with them and asked them why the script was written the way it was. The girls then started showing me research where in history she had been considered a ‘forceful woman’. They interpreted this as ‘rude and above others’. I could not debunk their idea of her theatrical character and so in the end they ended up with a unique script. I really like it even though it’s not what I as a teacher really envisioned of Ms. Cassatt and the reporter. Overall though it shows the girls were taking their role to make a script very seriously and had really focused on character development. Therefore I think it deserves a spot on PodBean!

Artist Interview - Leonardo Da Vinci

Posted in Uncategorized by msmcclellan on August 10th, 2008

This is a exceptional podcast by Meagan and Hannah that is FULL of creativity.  Not only did they come up with a Radio Show (they named ‘Chatting with Connie’); they also put a commercial in that was set in the Renaissance.  This one is highly recommended! Can the teacher have a FAVORITE? The girls did an excellent job on this project!

Student Project - Artist Interview (Michelangelo)

Posted in Uncategorized by msmcclellan on August 10th, 2008

The following podcast episode is from Kaitlyn & Hollie from the Art Section of the Humanities.

They learned a little about the quirky artist and found cool facts that they shared to the class.  Did you know that Michelangelo worked in the dark often?  Since there was no electricity during the Renaissance he just decided to wear candles on his head! That is not the safest idea, but at least he could see to make those great masterpieces! Icons in art like David and the Sistine Chapel.
